Frequently Asked Questions

Here you can find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions:

Export

Why can't I see the export link (button)?

Ensure that you have activated the "BlueBridge Wiki Extension" feature in the site feature list. Note: The "BlueBridge Wiki Columns" feature in the site collection feature list is not necessary for the export.

Can I use filter rules for the export?

The easiest way is to create a "custom view" for the Wiki page library by using the SharePoint standard features. You will see this view in the export options.

Why doesn't my PDF include any pictures?

When exporting to PDF, the server follows the link to the image and pastes it into the document. Make sure that the server has access to the pictures by logging on to the server and trying the links manually in a browser. Occasionally there are also issues with different authentification methods.

Installation

I keep getting an error message if I try to export

Ensure that you have manually installed/copied the license key file to "Program Files\Common Files\XHEO\SharedLicenses".

Do the Wiki Extensions work on 64bit systems?

Yes. We have tested our software on 64bit Windows 2003 and 2008 Servers.

Can I install the Wiki Extensions on Non-English servers?

We have installed the Extensions on German systems and have many customers in other countries, none of whom have reported any problems.

Can I change the installation path?

Our software does not include any hard-coded file names, so you shouldn't have any issues here. The dynamic path names will also adapt automatically in countries where standard paths obviously have different names.

How does the software run with .NET Framework?

The Wiki Extensions run fine on all the versions of .NET that have been officially approved for use with SharePoint. At present, this means .NET 3.0 and .NET 3.5 (from SP1).

Using the Extensions

I've created a link to a page that doesn't exist yet by using [square brackets]. Why do I get an error message when clicking on these links?

The issue occurs when articles (pages) have been created but not yet checked in. The reason is that SharePoint checks whether the link exists, but on a technical level rather than on a user-based level. To solve the problem, check new articles in after creating them, and then you can edit them as normal.
